Sue is a graduate chemist and has a master’s degree in environmental management. Sue started her career in the nuclear power industry before joining Northumbrian Water in 1990. She worked in various operational and scientific roles holding the post of water quality manager for several years. Prior to leaving Northumbrian Water, she was the asset strategy manager for water, where she was responsible for developing the submission for investment in water assets for the 2009 Periodic Review. She moved to Scotland in 2009 and after building her own house was appointed as the drinking water quality regulator for Scotland in 2011 where she has continued DWQR’s work in striving for excellence in the quality of drinking water supplies.
