Linda MacHugh is director of water & drainage policy in the Department for Infrastructure. Her responsibilities include the delivery of the Long-Term Water Strategy for Northern Ireland, the Living with Water Programme tackling the drainage issues in Belfast, developing floods policy, addressing the problems of surface water management and managing the relationship between the Department and Northern Ireland Water, its non-departmental public body.
Linda joined the Senior Civil Service in 2004, following a lengthy career in the textiles and clothing industry. Her roles in the Civil Service have included director of urban regeneration strategy, principal private secretary to the First Minister and Director of Local Government Policy. She is a language graduate, and a marketing post-graduate.
