Sophie has worked at Welsh Water since 2011, where she joined on the graduate scheme, after completing a BSc (Hons) in biology from The University of Sheffield, as well as an MSc in environmental management, wildlife and landscape conservation from Sheffield Hallam University. For the past four years, Sophie has been working on innovation projects across the business. Her current role is as an innovation scientist within the water assets team and her responsibilities include introducing and project managing the trials of new technologies within the business, as well as managing the innovation programme for clean water networks. Sophie had a key role in the planning and implementation of a new successful innovation process within Welsh Water. Most recently Sophie has moved into the Production team as a production solutions engineer, to manage the investment across a number of process areas such as coagulation and filter maintenance.
